A Pigmento Colectivo is a small but very proud Giclée & Fine Art printing laboratory, originally stemming from VLAB. We remain based in Aveiro and are presently shipping regularly to 20 countries.
Throughout 2021, despite the persistent challenges of an operational context hindered by the pandemic, we seized the opportunity to expand the reach of our then very small operation.
The year 2002 was primarily dedicated to strengthening relationships with the artists we print for, testing new production options, new papers, and of course, increasing the production volume.
We are also a Hahnemühle Certified Studio (Certification No.: 256377), under the Excellence Program of the German manufacturer.
We have the honor of working with about 800 artists (both national and international, in Portugal and abroad), and we aim to continue growing. Nevertheless, our main goal is to serve all our partners and clients in an absolutely exemplary manner.
PIGMENTO COOLECTIVO – WE HAVE A MISSION
Our mission is manifested in providing a printing service characterized by excellence. We aim to deliver a finished product based on superior substrates and papers, utilizing mineral-based pigment inks and rigorous color management processes.
We also prioritize attention to detail and the desires of our clients, offering pre-printing support and post-production follow-up.
PRINTING IS WHAT WE LOVE TO DO
We print for nearly 800 creatives and artists. Take a look at our Instagram to get to know a small sample of the works we are producing.
We use materials of the highest quality, mainly relying on solutions from Canson, Ilford, Mediajet and Hahnemühle, using Canon ImagePROGRAF PRO 4100 and Canon ImagePROGRAF PRO 2100 equipment, with LUCIA PRO pigment mineral inks. We print giclée up to 44” (111.8 cm) on the shorter side.
We love – great – paper
We have a very extensive selection of papers from any of the previously mentioned brands, as well as a PC line, based on “white label” papers produced by renowned companies, which represents a significant portion of what we print.
We strive to offer our clients a permanent stock of 14 different papers (aiming to embrace 16 papers soon) that cover various natural fibers (alpha-cellulose and cotton), representing different finishes (smooth, textured, silky, satin, pearl, etc.), with varying levels of whiteness and clarity, and more sustainable substrates such as bamboo, agave, hemp, and sugar cane (coming very soon).
The wide range we provide does not overlook the importance of costs in purchasing decisions, and therefore, we try to present solutions ranging from economical to expensive (some refer to it as premium, but the truth is that some papers are indeed expensive, and the current context doesn’t bring good news).
We work behind closed doors.
Firstly, due to circumstances (as we emerged in the midst of the pandemic), and subsequently as a clear operational choice. Nevertheless, we focus on individualized relationships, attention to detail, and always have ample time available to assist our clients in achieving the best possible results for their pieces.
We accept visits by appointment, but only for very specific cases such as exhibition production, signing of large series, etc.
